FRIDAY NIGHT CO-HOST

Curtis Goode
was born
52 years ago in Detroit, Michigan. He has
been a police officer with the City of Detroit
for 25 years and married to wife Bridgett for 2.
He is an avid movie buff, especially sci-fi's;
and enjoys traveling, being with family, and
mentoring the young men and women he encounters
daily on the streets of Detroit. Another
of his passions is dancing; he is the president
of the New Hustle Generation (NHG).
Curtis first
learned to Hustle, as its called in Detroit, in
the early and mid 1990's. NHG was formed in
1999, fueling perhaps his greatest passion:
bringing (uniting) people together. In
June 1999, NHG hosted a Hustle Extravaganza with
dance groups from Detroit, Flint, MI, and
Cleveland, OH in attendance. The
friendship and fellowship between these two
groups became strong and extended to other
cities in Michigan and Ohio.
In 2002, the
groups decided to host a family reunion: a
weekend get-together where everyone would gather
at one location, learn each other's dances,
observe dance performances, and just have a good
time being with one another. It was called the
"Line Dance/Hustle & Ballroom Family Reunion"
and was held the first weekend in June in
Toledo, OH. Now in its 9th year, the
United We Dance Reunion, which it is now called,
is comprised of 25 groups in Michigan, Ohio,
Kentucky, and Indiana. It has grown from
200 guests in 2002 to 1200 in 2010.
Curtis continues
to pursue his many passions: family,
mentoring, and uniting people through dance and
fellowship. |

Whenever
and wherever there's Line Dancing, Bettye can find a way
to get there.. look out folks, she will be there!
Bettye Dott has a passion
for music, dancing and giving back to the community.
When she was in second grade, she was the lead dancer in
the school's year end concert. However, dancing became
secondary to music lessons
and other school activities over the years of elementary
and junior high.
She was introduced to line
dancing and started approximately 6 years ago. One year
shortly after, Ray Johnson
formed a dance troupe
called "The Bay Area Baddest" featuring RayToKool and
The Badd Girlz, a dance troupe
promoting health and wellness through
dance. Their motto: "We dance for the health of it."
In 2005, Bettye attended her
first UWD Reunion Workshop in IND. There she met Curtis
Goode, Kenny J and other line
dance instructors/dignitaries. It's been "ON"
every since!
“I would be remiss if
acknowledgment was not given to many
line dance family
members, friends and supporters that I've encountered
such as Curtis Goode (MI), Kenny J, (NJ), Trish & Mike
Womack (MD), (Union Crew), Randy & Tanya Dennis (MD),
Sharon Holmes (MD) LYN Dance, Jessie Barnes (MD),
Crystal Smith (MI), Harriet Stuckey (CA), Joan Harris (BUF)
and many other acquaintances”.
